Life is the space between your ears,
Life is the song that no one hears,
Life is the place that only you know,
Life is the grass growing through snow,
Life is the touch of a lover's hand,
Life is a castle melting in sand,
Life is the laugh that's stuck in your throat
Life is a poem that god wrote
Life is the shiver on a warm night,
Life is like death, only not quite.

sand upon a rock

stolen from you
something so true
so pure a thing
then came its sting

torture succumbed
seeping into your soul
burrowing into depths and taking its toll

like a knife its cut came deep and swift
more and more began to rift
torn apart
made askew
darker things came out of you

but sealed away
now at last
what had happend
lies in the past
friends were there
to take you away
came to your rescue
erased that day

happiness found its light
friends' strong hands
holding you tight
never letting go
untill you stand high
upon this land
on the unstable ground we know as the sand

fallen tomes

sitting there on the floor
humming a little tune
a child plays with her doll

she stares deeply into the painted eyes

wishing those eyes were her own
caresing its wooden body
worn with age and playing
she puts the doll down, a little too forceful for she hears a little crack

but she ignores it
her tune becoming angrier
she leaves the room and walks down the cold wooden stairs
on the second last step, she stumbles

the maid merely watches her, as she gets back up with a wet face
but the maid just continues on with her buisness
not wanting to even go near the child
"it's not right to go near such treacherous little things like tha

pebbles on the floorlight streaming through the window
smiles cross his face
this little boy of 3 years old
sees nothing in distaste

he sees a game
an opportunity to explore
in the garden castle and see beyond its doors

with parents that are never there
and doors that are always locked
his secret haven
from them, they that are always gone

leaves fall on his face
the tree next to his window sharing its friendship
caring for him as best it can

pebbles cover his floor
with games of untold rules and lengths
each one having its unique perpose, always something new in store

this little boy
who hears voices all around
but is forever alone in a lar

believeto think of a heart
broken and torn
shot down, stamped on
talked to with scorn

can be mended and fixed
with kindness and care
thoughts of hope and happiness
and someone new to be there

another has found this heart on a string
taken it in
let it start to sing
enjoyed its company
shared its embrace
laughed in the silence
talked about anything and everything without haste

with friends and family
their sharing and caring
their happiness supporting and ever so daring

this is a heart
happy and loved
with twists and turns
and wings of a dove

I Hate Life When...

When you have no choice
But to lie –
Especially to your friends
And family.

When people cannot accept you
For who you really are,
And you have to continue the act
Just for them.

When your darkest secrets
Are discovered by your friends --
The ones you never wanted to know about it
In the first place.

When you think someone loves you,
Then they go and let you down.
Again.

When people think
They know best for you,
When all you want to do
Is follow your heart.

When someone acts
Like your friend,
Like they really care about you,
Then the next day
They go and bitch about you
Behind your back.

Knees are shaking,
Eyes are wondering,
Mind is crawling,

No ones cares,
My eyes are bawling,
